I'm laying on Tobi's bed watching jock clean up the room.. It's rather entertaining.. Dad woke him up at 9 instead of his usual 10:30 or 11, so he's walking around like he's drunk and pouting while he cleans the room.. I asked him what was wrong and he said ( you didn't have to wake up to dad yelling at you and having to clean up all the mess Tobi made).. I was like hmm ya that does sound bad.. If it was true.. His idea of cleaning up the room is throwing all the clothes on the floor dirty and clean into the closet. He always makes this weird face when he picks up his underwear like they really stink.. :) They probably do! Then he holds a pair up and asks me if I could fit into them? I said Ya I probably could. Why did you stretch them? He makes a weird face and says "no they're too small for me".. I'm like what? They would fit me but they're too small for you? So ya it was kind of funny..

I went for a run yesterday because it was sunny out so I thought I would get some exercise in and work on the tan at the same time.. So I went and ran a couple of miles on the dyke.. After the run I felt really beat and tired up for some reason.. I usually feel really good after a run.. So after diner I crashed for a couple of hours on Tobi's bed.. When I woke up I didn't feel much better and I started to get a sore throat.. So I went and got in my bed and tried to sleep.. For some reason the last couple of days I haven't been able to sleep very good at night.. I woke up at 3 a.m. with a really bad sore throat. When I woke up this morning my whole body hurt and I had a headache.. So if you're wondering, that's why I'm still in bed at 10 in the morning..

I'm thinking I've got the swine flu.. Ya I'm pretty sure that's what it is.. Hmm I wonder where I picked it up from.. I'm probably going to die!! Oh well, death sounds kind of good right now.. It would take all my problems away.. For one I wouldn't have to worry about finding a job.. If I die it might even take away some other people's problems too!! Hmm I guess we will just hafto wait and see..
So ya as you can see I'm still jobless. and hopeless. I talked to a guy that works at one of the plumbing supply houses and he gave me a couple more places to go and check out.. So we'll see what happens.. I really despise this. It's like life is on hold.. You can't really make big plans being jobless..

Since this is just a long boring post I'll put a funny movie up for you..

Here's my little coffee drinking buddy.. He usually tries to run away from me. I guess he thinks I'm annoying. Me annoying?? Never!! But if I'm drinking coffee he always tries to suck up to me.. So I always save some for him..

We have a smart little bird that likes to tease gooby. The bird seems to really enjoy it but gooby acts rather annoyed.. Here's the video..

June 6 D-Day

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have
striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The
hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you.
In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on
other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war
machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of
Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well
equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of
1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats,
in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their
strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home
Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions
of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men.
The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to
Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage and devotion to duty and skill in
battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great
and noble undertaking.

SIGNED: Dwight D. Eisenhower

The selection of a site for the largest amphibious landing in history was one of the biggest decisions of World War II. Allied planners needed a sheltered location with flat, firm beaches and within range of friendly fighter planes based in England. Most important was a reasonable expectation of achieving the element of surprise. Five beaches, code-named Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword, on the northern coast of Normandy, France, met all the criteria and were chosen as invasion sites.

On the evening of June 5, 1944, more than 150,000 men, a fleet of 5,000 ships and landing craft, 50,000 vehicles, and 11,000 planes sat in southern England, poised to attack secretly across the English Channel along the Normandy coast of France. This force was the largest armada in history and represented years of training, planning, and supplying. Because of the highly intricate Allied deception plans, Hitler and his staff believed that the Allies would be attacking at the Pas-de-Calais.

In the early morning of June 6, thousands of Allied paratroopers landed behind enemy lines, securing key roads and bridges on the flanks of the invasion area. As the sun rose on the Normandy coastline, the Allies began their amphibious landings, traveling to the beaches in small landing craft lowered from the decks of larger ships anchored in the Channel. The attack on four of the beaches went according to plan. But at Omaha Beach (see large map), between Utah and Gold, the bravery and determination of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division was tested in one of the fiercest battles of the war.

Surrounded at both ends by cliffs that rose wall-like from the sea, Omaha was only four miles long. To repel the Allies at the water’s edge, the Germans built a fortress atop the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc overlooking Omaha from the west. They dug trenches and guns into the 150-foot bluffs lining the beach and along five ravines leading off it. As Allied troops waded into the surf, many were cut down as the doors of their landing craft opened. The survivors had to cross more than 300 yards across a tidal flat strewn with man-made obstacles. Winds and currents pushed landing craft into clumps as the men moved ashore. As a result, soldiers ran onto the beach in groups and became easy targets. Of the more than 9,000 Allied casualties on D-Day, Omaha accounted for about one-third. Allied planners had hoped that the forces at Omaha would advance 5 to 10 miles after 24 hours of fighting. Stiff German resistance, however, stopped the invaders cold on the beach. Progress inland was excruciatingly slow and painful. The Allied forces reached their first day goal (dotted blue line on the large map) only after more than two days of bloody fighting. Although many died, the Allies eventually took control of the beach and fought their way inland.

Well it's been 5 weeks or 6 (I've lost count) since I lost my job and I still haven't found a new one yet.. Very depressing :( I hate it so much.. I feel like such a loser... So far I've only got one job offer and that one was out of town, so I turned it down... I put in another application in last week and it sounds promising.. But all I can do is wait and see what happens...

We went on a hike last Monday and I was hoping by now to have some picture to post but somebody is taking there jolly good time getting them to me, so I guess they'll just hafto wait for another day... Anyhow I got some picture of us at the lake today that I'll post..

So ya with no work life has been rather depressing lately. Most of last week was cold and rainy.. So there wasn't much you could do but stay inside.. That gets old fast... I did have Mike over on Saturday (His wife left him for a couple of weeks to go to Texas and he was mopping around because of it. So I had him over to cheer him up.. and we played the Wii and watched some of the 7th season of 24. As always I tried to be a good influence on him and get him to buy a couple jet skies before his wife gets back so we could go out and have some real fun.. He was tempted but didn't go for it YET... :) I still got a couple of days to work on him before his wife gets back.. I even told him he could store them at my house.. lol Hmm I wish..

So ya we went swimming again today.. That lake just doesn't seem to want to warm up... Maybe it has something to do with it being in Alaska.. Just a guess.. It was still pretty cold.. I hope some time in my life I get to swim in water that's not just above freezing..

Walking to the lake.

Little miss kriss looking pretty as usual.
Joyka, Aimee, Ross and Jock having a noodle fight..
Joyka and Aimee sucking up water in the noodle and trying to blow it on Jock.

SUMMMER TIME!!!! yeeeehhhaaaaaaaa

The last couple of days its been amazingly nice outside... So since I'm a jobless bum I've tried to spend most of my time outside doing stuff... Anyhow the other day I had Jock come outside to help me do some work.... I told him to hook up the sprinkler to water the lawn.. Which turned out to be a bad idea.. Because that was the end of him helping me.. He spent the rest of the do doing THIS.. :) Yep jumping threw the sprinkler.. He was having so much fun he thought the dogs would like it... So he picked up Gooby and started jumping threw with him...

He did it with Molly and Jane too... None of the dogs enjoyed it very much.. They all had a tormented look on their face... Jane and Gooby ran off and hide from him as soon as he let them down... Molly just looked annoyed and like she would bite Jock if he tried to pick her up to do it again..

Poor Gooby up stairs on the porch hiding from the little terror... He wasn't pleased with Jock at all..
Me, Jock and Aaron went to Chena Lakes today to kill some time by practice are golf swing in the big field by the lake... I stopped when I almost hit a car with the ball.. Jock saw that there was some kids swimming, so he started begging me to let him swim... I said it was to cold but he kept bugging me, so I caved in.. So we ran home and grabbed our shorts, Jane, and Molly.. We called Ross and got him to come too.. So here's some videos of our time at the lake..

Ya the water was crazy cold... We finally got Ross to jump in...

The dogs loved it but they got so cold that they started acting unusually weired...

They were burning the flood control and had some smoke jumpers practicing... It looked like a blast...

Ross was trying to surf on a noodle.. (: It didn't work...

Poor little dogs...

Rescue The Perishing

Here's a little different version of Rescue The Perishing.. I thought it was really good..

Rescue The Perishing
Billy Foote, Fanny Jane Crosby

Verse 1:
Rescue the perishing
Care for the dying
Snatch them in pity
From sin and the grave
Weep o'er the erring one
Lift up the fallen
Tell them of Jesus
The mighty to save

Chorus:
Rescue the perishing
Care for the dying
Jesus is merciful
Jesus will save
Church open your eyes once more
And see what Christ died for
Jesus is merciful
Jesus will save

Verse 2:
Down in the human heart
Crushed by the temptor
Feelings lie buried
That grace can restore
Touched by a loving heart
Wakened by kindness
Chords that are broken
Will vibrate once more

Bridge:
As we're playing our songs
While we're singing them well
Have we forgotten the lost
The reality of hell
If we say we love God
Wanna see His will done
Will we offer our lives
Or just the songs we have sung
Do we even care
When will we care

Most of them turned out blurry.. And the funny thing is there wasn't any of the bride and groom together.. So maybe some one else got some good pictures and will post them... I loved this picture.. They look so sweet and nice.. They almost fool you into believing it..

Just Some Pictures

I'm so glad it's summer.. (: I can't wait to see what grand adventures are in store for me this year... This pictures popped up as my screen saver on my computer the other day and brought back some good memories.. So I thought I would do a slide show of them...
